Introduction
The hymn arrangements in this publication were originally conceived for two harmoniums and a vocal ensemble (SATB). In two of the hymns (Abide with me and Nearer my God) the instrumental accompaniment also features a viola. For the purposes of this publication, the two harmonium parts have been combined in a single organ part with pedals.
The compositions can be heard in their original instrumentation on the CD ‘Hymns’.
Inleiding
De hymns in deze bundel zijn oorspronkelijk voor twee harmoniums en een vocaal ensemble (SATB) gecomponeerd. In twee hymnes (Abide with me en Nearer my God) is de bezetting uitgebreid met een altviool. Voor deze gelegenheid zijn de partijen van de twee harmoniums teruggebracht naar een orgel met pedaal.
De composities zijn in de oorspronkelijke bezetting opgenomen op de cd HYMNS.
